Amanda Calobrisi grew up in White Plains, NY where she practiced being a rebellious teenager before moving to Boston in 1996 to study psychology. She soon transfered to the University of Massachusetts, Boston, where she studied painting and printmaking, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2002. Managing a vintage store in Cambridge, MA, she became interested in patterns and textiles, which became the secondary focus of her large scale self-portrait paintings.

After completing a post-baccalaureate studio year at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 2005, Amanda and her fiancee Charles Roberts moved to Chicago with their three cats.

Amanda is curently pursuing a Master in Fine Arts degree in painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She cites Schiele and Balthus among her influences, as well as children's book illustrations and fairytales. This is her first time acting.
